i just want to list down all the tested maps that i have for other countries! do check back for more!
to install, just extract the files, and copy the .img file to your e:\garmin and rename them to gmapsupp.img

i have tried it myself, quite nice, stable. however, some people might experience setup problems the first time (e.g. hang when starting up), however once you get through it (by uninstalling and installing it back), it will have no problem.

well when i have it in my pc, i noticed it won't take too much resources, unlike some other antivirus standalone. it also managed to catch some of those nasty virus/trojan from websites, and managed to thwart some of those people who are trying to do something with your connection. best of all it works quite well for newbies by blocking automatically those unwanted connections and applications. if you want, just give it a try!

Latest Maps for Mapking G10 and G12

here there are! latest Sept 2008...
note: the following maps are not compatible with Mapking Symbian S60 and PND (WinCE) version

just extract and copy the files to e:\Storage\Program Files\MapAsia\MapKing or e:\My Documents (you can create this folder if not available)

Protecting and Hiding you files or folders!

you can use...

Best Crypto. works in 5800.
you can use it for the usual thing, password protect and encrypting your files such as videos, music and documents... just scroll through the file manager kinda look and select the file/files, and encrypt them using a password. simple as that..

Media Safe
also works in 5800, and has the same thing as above :P just try it out!

Advanced Phone Lock
also works in 5800 :P, this app can be used to lock any application, whether its sms, call list, garmin, etc!, first, it will ask your for a new password, set it up, then go to Applications Lock, see picture below, and then select yes when you see Lock Applications? and set the Applications to be Locked field. then go to Options, Save. thats it! just click on Exit, and it will stay in the background, and everytime you try to open the locked program, it will ask you for a password, enter it and pass!

Upgrade your phone camera! 5800 and other nokia phones

first, it requires your phone has access to Z:\ and to have access to your Z:\ and your system files. you can also access your private folder using this method :P

WARNING: This may screw up your phone if you "accidently" do things! so becareful!!! dun come asking me what to do after you screw up your phone :P

anyway, to reset your phone, follow here

you will need an OPDA cert, which you can get instructions from here to get it.

then you will also need to download x-plore and install it into your phone. after you install x-plore,
go to Menu, Tools, Configuration, and change the Show Hidden files, Show ROM drives and Show system files/folders to have a tick to enable it.

use this way to access your system and hidden folders in the easiest way possible....you can skip the part below...

THIS IS THE OLD WAY TO ACCESS SYSTEM FOLDERS

then you will also need this. just download it for later use. extract it somewhere...

then for MapDrives file, sign it using the OPDA method described here

then connect your phone as mass storage, and copy the Hack directory into your e:\ memory card, e.g. e:\Hack\sys...

then install mapdrives, helloopda file into your phone memory. then run mapdrives from applications folder. then close it. you can uninstall this application if you like (by going to Settings, Application Manager, Installed Apps, and select the mapdrives. then go to Options, and Uninstall. then run hellopda from your applications folder and go to Options, Run updaterD.

now install updaterD file. after that, go to x-plore that you installed previously and see if you can see the Z:\private folder, if you can, then you have followed correctly the steps :P

ok now for the camera part...
go to Z:\private from x-plore, then find Z:\private\10202BE9\10282EDC.txt file. after that, go to Menu, Mark, Selected. it will then select the file, then go to Menu, Edit, Copy. then navigate to C:\private\10202BE9\ (C drive OK!!!) then go to Menu, File, Select(OK). then it will copy the file there. then you will need to edit the file, so select the file, go to Menu, File, Edit. then scroll to the bottom and look for 0x3001A. after that, change the CompressionQuality=85 to CompressionQuality=100 and EstimatedSize=650000 to EstimatedSize=890000 just under the 0x3001A value. after doing that, go to Menu, Save.

and finally, exit x-plore and restart your phone (turn off and on), and thats it!!!

How to view video on your 5800!

you can use this method to view videos in your nokia 5800 or all your other mobile phone, which supports mp4 of course ^_^ which most of them do nowadays.
anyway, download any video converter. then run and setup, and you will see the screen below. just drap and drop your avi/mpg/wmv file to the window. Or you can click on Add Video Files from the top screen (see attached screen), then select the profile on the bottom screen as MP4 (see screen attached), then select the Output folder as you like. then click on Start Encoding, and wait for several minutes. after completed, the new mp4 file will be located in the folder that you selected previously under Output Folder. just copy that file into your phone/memory card and play! thats it!

note: you can copy the file through USB or bluetooth connection, however, using cable is faster... if the file is big... the mp4 file will be smaller compared to the original file, so thats normal..
