How to use your phone to connect to Internet

easy as ABC! there are a few ways, ill try to list them down here..

#1
just connect your phone, and let it connect to Nokia PC Suite.

run it, install it using defaults, accept agreement, next next next. then after you open PC Suite, find the icon with the World thingy, its the top right most icon. then just click on it, and wait for your phone to connect by itself. after around one minute, it will say connected using Nokia 5800 modem, etc etc... thats it!

if you don't have Nokia PC Suite, and choose not to install it. then just use bluetooth instead. however, the thing is, the bluetooth feature is different for every bluetooth device whether using a bluetooth dongle (usb thing), or from the laptop itself. so, i will be very general here... just enable bluetooth on your phone and the bluetooth device (laptop/dongle). then let it pair (look for options like New Paired device). after pairing, go to your laptop/PC, then look for the new paired device (your phone). then right click or double click the phone, and then look for Dial up networking. if its not enabled, then enable it by clicking on the checkbox.

then just right click on the bluetooth icon, and look for Connect to Internet using, and find your connected Phone. then select your phone, and a popup for Dial up will come up. enter *99# as the number, "maxis" as username and "wap" as password. then click on Connect and wait for it to connect! thats it

OR

you can go to Start, Connect To, and look for your Phone Modem through bluetooth. then enter the same information as above, the number, username and password and click on Connect.

  1. Hi, thanks for the info. I'm using Nokia PC Suite and successfully connected to DiGi via my 5800. Anyhow I'm not able to access to the internet, but it shows that it's connected (3xx kbps if i remember correctly).
